Context
The operator found that all four manually curated Portal example catalogs feature the small choreography example rather than the release's Workstation app. At af539a9f0c3e9fb8eca2051de98ff41867d724a6, each list starts with id:28 (examples/dashboard/choreography); the existing Workstation record id:27 is third. The current covers were also visually inspected: the choreography card uses an old Workstation frame with overlapping controls, and the Workstation image is cropped.
The Problem
A first-time visitor is directed to the wrong featured experience, while two prominent cards appear to represent the same product. HTTP 200 and successful mounting did not establish that the featured card opened the intended app.
The Architectural Reality
apps/portal/resources/data/examples_{devmode,dist_dev,dist_esm,dist_prod}.json are curated source data, not generated files.
apps/portal/store/Examples.mjs preserves the catalog order; view/examples/List.mjs renders that order and consumes sharedWorkers for the badge/navigation behavior.
- The existing Workstation record already has distinct correct source/development/ESM/production URLs. Its app config enables SharedWorkers, but the catalog flag is missing.
List.mjs#imageBasePath serves covers from Pages resources_pub/website/examples/, not the Engine image-original directory. Both the source originals and actual Pages-hosted assets must be carried through publication.
Design authority: the operator's 2026-10-12 correction names apps/workstation as the intended featured destination; the small example must move down “a lot” if retained, and the old cover with styling glitches must be replaced.
The Fix
Promote the existing Workstation record to first in all four catalogs, preserving its stable id and correct mode URLs; declare its SharedWorker capability. Move the focused choreography example to the end of the visible catalog and name it “Dock Choreography Demo”. Preserve every unrelated entry and URL.
Capture fresh, clean screenshots of the actual current apps for their distinct covers. Retain the source originals under the existing example-image directory and hand the exact artifacts to the Pages publisher. No generator, engine layout code, or new abstraction is needed.

Completed 2026-10-12. Engine correction merged as df478878a97b5001133bfcd5e440910140c5ba61; Pages publication merged as 5df4094003b6fddae539f8354697ebfca9c7b8bf, with deployment 38239578535 successful. Euclid's independent deployed receipt records actual first-card navigation to identifiable Workstation UI in all four modes, matching all 16 catalogs and both covers. Ada's launch gate independently confirms the published catalogs/covers and production destination. The exact-source publication review binds the deployed bytes to the approved Engine captures. These receipts complete this ticket's source and deployed-destination acceptance; no new native Dock or cross-browser regression result is implied.
Grace retains the Pages publication tail: publish the reviewed catalogs and exact image bytes to their actual served locations, including the ESM catalog family. Ada/Euclid retain independent deployed first-card and release acceptance. The source PR does not claim a completed website deployment.
Residual-Owner: neomjs/neo#14800; The source/deployed correction is complete; the package-refresh residual remains tracked there.
The new image keys are devmode/workstation-13-2.jpg and devmode/dock-choreography-13-2.jpg. Source originals live in apps/portal/resources/images/examples/; Pages must publish identical bytes under resources_pub/website/examples/. Grace will carry the four source catalogs and regenerate the twelve distribution mirrors, avoiding assumptions about which runtime family fetches which copy.
Package-publication residual: until the first Engine patch release containing this correction, an unqualified update-neo-version from npm 13.2.0 would restore the old catalogs. The release follow-through under #14800 must preserve/reapply the reviewed Pages overlay or hold that refresh; retire the overlay once the published Engine contains the corrected catalogs.
Out of Scope
A generic catalog generator, broad example reordering, changing Workstation behavior, a new rendering system, or treating the small example as the flagship.
