v13.3.0 release notes, iteration 3: showcase frames and designation

Context

#19712 is the epic for Engine 13.3.0's release notes. Iteration 2 merged as #19754 (2d3e6fa8ef). On 2026-10-15 the operator answered the readiness questions: Release Type "Grid Fits Its Content", Stability "Stable", and the carryovers #16498, #18985 and #14790 stay in 13.3. He also raised two challenges, framed as challenges rather than rulings: the notes narrate corrections in the "nice catch" style the team uses internally, which an external reader can take for a verification miss; and the frames from the current examples are below the quality bar. The showcase #19756 answers the second. Its four frames were approved in chat at 16:00Z (AC-5 there).

The Problem

• Release Type and Stability still read "pending".
• Measured by the browser, not predicted tells how the operator turned the first convergent shape away from a third-party text-layout library. The principle is the content, and the turn is the correction story.
• Review caught what green tests passed frames the header menus' typed sorting and single recount as defects the tests missed.
• The grid frames come from examples/grid/contentSizedRows (10k records of generated filler) and examples/grid/bigData (a stress test).
• The scale line and the Full Changelog count to 2026-10-15 11:42Z. Since then #19754 and #19690 merged, and #19758 (header menus set in a grid's config) is approved.

The Architectural Reality

• The note is .github/RELEASE_NOTES/v13.3.0.md, iterated on dev behind its banner (release-notes §1, §6). Designation lines are operator-confirmed, never inferred (§4).
• Frames load from raw.githubusercontent.com/neomjs/pages/main/resources_pub/website/release-notes/v13.3.0/, hosted by a neomjs/pages pull request as in iteration 2 (neomjs/pages#39). Generate.spec.mjs refuses blob/main and tag-ref source links in release notes.
• The showcase is examples/grid/issues (#19756): Neo's own 497 issues, content-sized rows across three bodies, header menus with counts on Type, Area, Author and State, light and dark themes.

The Fix

In .github/RELEASE_NOTES/v13.3.0.md:

• Designation: Release Type: The Grid Fits Its Content, described as a focused feature release, the first on the one-to-two-week cadence, with the package's entry points unchanged; Stability: Stable.
• Principles, not corrections: the content-sized rows chapter states the design principle (the engine measures text by rendering it, and prefers its own primitives to third-party libraries) and keeps the operator's line as a principle; the header-menu chapter describes typed sorting, typed labels and the single recount as behaviour, with the pull requests as sources.
• Frames: the showcase's dark frame opens the notes; its light frame leads the content-sized rows chapter; its Author menu and its Area-filtered frame replace bigData's two. The 100k refine frame stays, since the showcase holds 497 rows.
• Short route: examples/grid/issues shows both features; bigData's checkbox stays as the 100k route.
• Merges since iteration 2, counted against live GitHub at a stated time.
• Banner: iteration 3. What remains is the cut's receipt and the numbers at the cut head.

Acceptance Criteria

• AC-1 Release Type and Stability carry the operator's 2026-10-15 designation.
• AC-2 No passage narrates the operator or a review correcting the team; the measurement principle and the menu's typed behaviour remain, each sourced.
• AC-3 The four showcase frames are embedded with descriptive alt text from neomjs/pages; the filler and stress-test frames are gone, and the 100k refine frame stays.
• AC-4 The short route names examples/grid/issues.
• AC-5 The scale line and the Full Changelog name their source and time and list every pull request merged since iteration 2.
• AC-6 Generate.spec.mjs passes.
• AC-7 A GPT-family review approves before merge (release-notes §5).

Out of Scope

• Hosting the PNGs: a neomjs/pages ticket of its own.
• The cut's receipt, removing the banner and the numbers at the cut head: the cut-preparation pass under #19652.
• The showcase example itself: #19756.

Avoided Traps

• Rounding new merges into the old count. The 11:42Z numbers stay true for their time; this iteration states its own.
• A frame of a page set up for the shot. Every frame is the showcase as a reader opens it.
